CASA CONTINUING EDUCATION

National CASA requires that all active advocates complete 12 hours of continuing education per year. 

The following resources can be used to complete your continuing education requirement. Please track your hours and report them on your CASA timecard. Thank you for continuing your learning journey in order to provide the best possible advocacy for your case child(ren)!

Child Welfare Information Gateway

The Child Welfare Information Gateway provides free publications categorized by topics in child abuse and neglect, child welfare, and adoption. They also have an excellent podcast series!

Nat'l Child Traumatic Stress Network

National Child Traumatic Stress Network offers a wide array of webinars and e-learning courses on best practices for helping children who have experienced trauma. (Free, registration required).

CASA of Arizona Training Center

CASA of Arizona welcomes all CASA volunteers nationwide to their training center. They provide materials and resources to help each volunteer become a more effective child advocate.

Educational Advocacy Guidebook

Texas CASA’s Educational Advocacy Guidebook helps CASAs identify education-related challenges facing their youth and illustrates how to overcome these challenges through advocacy.

Texas CASA Online Learning Center

Texas CASA's excellent library of trainings and informational videos for advocates & foster (resource) families. Registration is required, but it is free and open to CASAs and families in all states.

Trauma-Based Relational Intervention

TBRI® 101: A Self-Guided Course in Trust-Based Relationships is a free 8-hr series of self-paced video lessons on TBRI®, an evidence-based intervention for children following abuse, neglect, and/or trauma.
