Summer Art For Kids

Kids ages 6 – 13 can join The Arts Center for arts, crafts and creativity this summer!  Sessions are led by local professional artists and educators, coordinated by trained staff of The Arts Center. ArtMaking @ Home shares fun things to make while we are staying at home being safe with our families. These FREE activities were selected because they are fun for both kids and adults, using materials we hope you have around the house.

Simple, family-friendly crafts you can do at home!

R.E.A.D. Dogs Goes Virtual!

Young readers can read online with a trained, friendly Reading Education Assistance Dog. While the library building is closed, READ Dog sessions will be offered online through GoToMeeting, a video call service that can be used on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. You can even dial in to the session through a phone line. Registration is required; for upcoming dates and registration information click here.

Stay At Home Storytime with CBCPL

Join the Library's Youth Services team for new recorded storytimes every week, suitable for kids of all ages! You can view all the videos on the storytime playlist on Youtube, and subscribe to their Youtube channel to be notified when they post a new video. Beginning June 9, every Tuesday at 10:30 am, the Youth Services team will be presenting Facebook Live Storytime on CBCPL's Facebook page.

Summer @ Your Library

Summer @ Your Library includes Summer Reading, and various activities and events designed to help all age groups explore new ideas, books and activities – free of charge. Get a free book and bag when you sign up, while supplies last!  As you read books and participate in the activities, you are eligible to win badges and prizes.

Corvallis Environmental Center - Summer Camps 2020

CEC summer camps are open for Summer 2020! From Camp Pizza Pie to Wildlife Scientists, the Corvallis Environmental Center staff are excited to offer an amazing camp experience in a safe way! They also offer "Camp In A Box" with interactive, live online sessions for campers who wish to participate remotely. Scholarships may also be available - click HERE to apply!

"Stay Well Corvallis" Website - Ideas and Activities for a Safe Summer!

The new “Stay Well Corvallis” website provides residents with new and updated ideas and activities to do at home or outside while maintaining appropriate social distance. Includes “Technical Tuesdays” from Osborn Aquatic Center, streaming performances from The Majestic Theatre, and free yoga classes and wellness tips from the Corvallis Community Center. Avery Park is also providing weekly nature themes, a social media challenge, and an all-ages backyard activity guide!

Maxtivity Summer Camps

Maxtivity is offering Outdoor Art Kids' Camps this summer at Mary's River Park in Philomath! Six different camps will be offered this summer"All Animals Artsy Camp" (ages 5-7), "Time Travelers" (ages 8-11), "Creative  Summer" (ages 12+), "Abstract Art" (Ages 5-8), Maker Lab Outdoors" (ages 8-11), and "Gelli Print, Linocut, Mixed Media" (ages 12+)!

Free Live Art Lessons on Zoom (and Video Recordings!)

Maxtivity is now offering free art tutorials online! Thursdays at 11am they will be leading LIVE art lessons on Zoom! Message them on Facebook or send an email for access to the Zoom meeting link. Video recordings of previous art lessons can be found at the link above!


Oregon State Parks - Day Use and Camping

🌟🆕🌟KidSpirit Camp Connect

KidSpirit campers will be able to experience the excitement of camp all from home! Kidspirit is offering virtual summer camps live online with KidSpirit staff. Ongoing learning provides structure and social time for children who are missing school, friends, sports, and other group activities. The draft schedule for classes is available here; schedule will be finalized and registration opened on June 19th! PYAC Summer Activities

PYAC will not be able to offer their Fun In The Sun, Softball, or Baseball programs this summer, but they are hopeful that they may still be able to resume youth sports progams for Fall. Please check the link above or follow PYAC on Facebook for continued updates!


Birdwatching and Wildlife Observation Near Corvallis

Within a 30-mile radius of Corvallis, you'll find the William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge, the E. E. Wilson National Wildlife Refuge, the Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge, the Ankeny National Wildlife Refuge, and within city limits, the Jackson-Frazier Wetlands Preserve. Jackson-Frazier is open throughout the year. A wheelchair-accessible boardwalk winds through this wetland, allowing visitors to see many plant communities and habitats! Get out into nature this summer with your kiddo(s) and see how many different plants and animals you can observe together!

Varsity Tutors - Free Virtual Summer Camps
